Govt Fast-Tracks Six TP Schemes in Dholera SIR
GANDHINAGAR : The Gujarat state administration has announced a significant push in the planning and development of the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), with six major Town Planning (TP) schemes now being fast-tracked. The schemes collectively span around 902 square kilometers and aim to provide a structured framework for zoning, land use, and infrastructure integration.
Out of the six, two TP scheme drafts are approaching completion. Surveys for the remaining four are expected to be concluded by the end of this year, with draft notifications likely to be issued by February 2012. This swift execution is intended to lay the groundwork for utilities, roads, and other core infrastructure, ensuring Dholera is investment-ready.
To promote seamless land acquisition and gain public support, the government is offering landowners compensation packages above the market rate. This proactive approach is designed to minimize disputes and maintain momentum in project execution.
These planning efforts are integral to Dholera’s broader development blueprint and are closely aligned with its role as a flagship node under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). As India’s first greenfield smart city, Dholera is envisioned as a modern industrial and urban hub, equipped with high-end infrastructure and technology-driven planning.
By prioritizing these schemes, the government is laying a strong foundation for public-private partnerships, efficient land management, and timely execution of development milestones — reaffirming its commitment to transforming Dholera into a globally competitive smart city destination.
