GANDHINAGAR — SEPTEMBER 1, 2012:

As a pivotal move to ensure efficient governance and implementation of the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), the Gujarat Government formed the Dholera SIR Development Authority (DSIRDA). This statutory body has been vested with the authority to sanction Town Planning Schemes (TP Schemes), manage land pooling, and coordinate all aspects of development within the region.

DSIRDA is tasked with acting as the central planning and implementation agency for DSIR. It will be responsible for zoning regulations, infrastructure project approvals, public consultations, and ensuring alignment with the state's economic and urban planning goals. The authority is also set to play a leading role in coordinating with national and international investors, facilitating infrastructure development, and enabling the early activation of industrial and residential areas.

As a legally empowered body, DSIRDA holds the power to prepare, approve, and notify TP Schemes, engage with stakeholders for land reconstitution, and safeguard the interest of landowners through transparent mechanisms. It is also designated as the single-window agency for policy facilitation, speeding up project clearances and minimizing bureaucratic delays.

The formation of DSIRDA marks the beginning of organized, large-scale development within the Dholera SIR, laying a robust foundation for long-term urban planning and global investor engagement.
