Dholera Selected as Strategic Node in Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor
NEW DELHI / DHOLERA – The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) officially designated Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) as one of the major nodes under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project. This strategic recognition aligns Dholera with national-level planning efforts to create next-generation industrial cities backed by modern infrastructure and global partnerships.
With this inclusion, Dholera receives priority status for central government infrastructure funding, policy alignment, and international collaboration. The area is envisioned as a Global Manufacturing and Trading Hub, designed to attract large-scale investments and accelerate economic growth in Gujarat.
Early-stage master planning support was secured through partnerships with international experts, including Japanese agencies under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) framework. These efforts focus on designing an integrated city with high-efficiency logistics, smart infrastructure, and sustainable development practices.
Target sectors for development in the region include electronics, automotive, aerospace, defense manufacturing, and logistics, offering immense potential for industrial diversification and job creation.
With proximity to ports, highways, and future rail and airport projects, Dholera stands positioned as a high-impact growth zone in the DMIC corridor. This strategic announcement reinforces its role as a future-ready industrial and urban hub, aligned with India’s vision for smart and inclusive economic expansion.
