AECOM Appointed as Program Manager for Trunk Infrastructure
GANDHINAGAR :To accelerate early-stage development in Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), the Government of Gujarat has entrusted AECOM, an internationally recognized infrastructure consulting firm, with the responsibility of managing the planning and execution of trunk infrastructure within the Activation Area, spanning 22.5 square kilometers.
Under this engagement, AECOM will oversee the design and delivery of critical urban utilities, including road networks, water supply systems, stormwater drainage, wastewater management, power distribution lines, and fiber-optic communication infrastructure. These facilities are being integrated with a vision to offer plug-and-play industrial zones, reducing lead times for setting up business operations and attracting long-term investments.
The Activation Area is regarded as the foundation phase of Dholera’s transformation into a smart industrial city. AECOM’s role as Program Manager includes supervising contractors, ensuring timely delivery, managing quality standards, and aligning development with global urban sustainability practices. The initiative aims to support an ecosystem that promotes industrial efficiency, economic growth, and digital connectivity.
This strategic appointment is a milestone in Dholera’s progress under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) framework. It reflects the state’s commitment to adopting world-class execution standards and ensuring investor confidence through reliable infrastructure readiness. AECOM’s global experience across large-scale smart-city projects is expected to bring precision, innovation, and speed to the rollout of Dholera’s infrastructure.
