GUJARAT: Authorities have begun discussions on establishing an integrated township within the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) as part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) initiative. This proposal aims to develop Dholera into a balanced urban-industrial ecosystem by integrating industrial, residential, commercial, and green spaces within the township planning framework.

The integrated township is envisioned to support the needs of upcoming industries, including semiconductor, electronics, and advanced manufacturing sectors, by providing accessible housing, healthcare, educational facilities, and recreation zones for workers and residents. The plan includes sustainable urban planning with wide roads, dedicated green belts, and essential civic amenities, ensuring environmental sustainability and operational ease for industries operating in the region.

Additionally, this township will align with Gujarat’s broader vision of building future-ready smart cities, incorporating ICT-enabled management systems, efficient public transport, and walkable community layouts to support low-carbon, efficient living. It is expected to attract domestic and global investors who require well-planned ecosystems for setting up advanced manufacturing and technology-driven units while ensuring the welfare of their workforce.

The integrated township proposal under DMIC is set to transform Dholera into a model industrial city with a live-work-play environment, supporting India’s Make in India mission and positioning Gujarat as a leading hub for industrial and economic growth. This initiative will also drive employment opportunities while enhancing the quality of life, ensuring Dholera’s readiness to welcome high-value investments with world-class urban and industrial infrastructure.
