CM-Led Authority Clears Dholera TP Schemes
GANDHINAGAR: In a major governance milestone, the Chief Minister of Gujarat chaired a key meeting of the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB), granting formal clearance to the Dholera Special Investment Region’s (DSIR) Town Planning Schemes and comprehensive master plan. The session included senior state officials, Cabinet ministers Nitin Patel and Babubhai Bokhiria, and members of the DSIR Development Authority.
This top-tier approval encompasses an expansive 880 square kilometers of strategic industrial and urban development land in Dholera. The cleared master plan outlines zone-wise planning for residential, commercial, industrial, and green areas, in line with the principles of sustainable development and smart city standards.
Highlights of the meeting:
Unanimous endorsement of TP Schemes 1–6
Approval of development control regulations (DCR) aligned with DMIC planning
Focus on flood resilience, road connectivity, public utility networks, and integrated town planning
The decision signifies a shift from conceptual design to real-time execution, enabling land pooling, investor engagement, and trunk infrastructure rollout. It also affirms the state government’s commitment to making Dholera one of the first and most advanced greenfield smart cities under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) initiative.
This high-level political backing boosts investor confidence and accelerates DSIR’s transition from blueprint to on-ground development.
