GUJARAT: Dholera is moving forward with plans to pilot smart city technologies using Internet of Things (IoT) systems to improve both city services and industrial operations. This pilot includes deploying IoT-enabled traffic management systems, smart power grids for efficient energy use, and real-time environmental monitoring to maintain air quality and sustainability across the city.

These advanced technologies will help industries, including semiconductor, electronics, and advanced manufacturing units, by creating a connected, reliable, and efficient environment to operate within Dholera. With IoT-based traffic systems, the city will reduce congestion, improve transportation reliability for freight and employees, and enhance overall mobility within the industrial zones. The smart power grids will help industries manage energy consumption better, ensuring reliable power supply for manufacturing operations while supporting Gujarat’s clean energy goals. Environmental sensors will track air quality and pollution in real time, maintaining a healthy environment for workers and residents while aligning with sustainability standards.

This initiative is part of Dholera’s mission to become a model smart industrial city under India’s Smart Cities Mission, offering modern infrastructure and digital readiness to attract both domestic and international investors. It aligns with Gujarat’s vision of transforming Dholera into a leading hub for semiconductor, electronics, and high-tech manufacturing, generating new employment opportunities and boosting economic growth in the region.

By piloting IoT-based smart city solutions, Dholera is positioning itself as a technology-driven, future-ready destination for industries seeking efficient, connected, and sustainable operations in India, strengthening its role in the country’s journey toward advanced industrialization.
