DHOLERA: The Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA) has released the first draft of its comprehensive development plan for public review. The draft outlines a vision for transforming Dholera into a globally competitive smart industrial city through systematic urban planning.

The proposed plan includes clearly demarcated zones for residential, industrial, commercial, and green spaces, while prioritizing flood safety and environmental resilience. It also presents a roadmap for strategic infrastructure growth, with a strong focus on multimodal transport corridors, robust utility networks, and economic hubs.

Planned in phases through 2040, the development aims to ensure sustainable expansion in line with international standards. Public-private partnerships and stakeholder participation are central to its implementation strategy.

Key Highlights of the Draft Plan:

  • Designation of land use zones (industrial, residential, commercial, green).

  • Integrated transportation corridors, including road, rail, and metro linkages.

  • Flood zone mapping and climate-resilient infrastructure measures.

  • Provision for smart grids, sewage systems, and water treatment plants.

  • Timeline for phased implementation up to the year 2040.

The DSIRDA is inviting feedback from citizens, industry stakeholders, and planning experts before finalizing the master plan. This milestone marks a major step in positioning Dholera as India’s pioneering smart city initiative under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
