GIDB Empanels Consultants for Dholera Projects
GANDHINAGAR: As part of structured development under the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB) announced the empanelment of leading national and international consultants for strategic project components across the region.
This move was aimed at accelerating critical groundwork including environmental impact assessments (EIA), flood vulnerability studies, master planning, transport routing, and the framing of development policies under the Special Investment Region (SIR) Act. The panel selection included firms with expertise in:
Urban planning and smart city frameworks
Flood mitigation and hydrological modeling
Environmental and ecological sustainability (EIA/EMP)
Infrastructure design for roads, utilities, and logistics
Policy and governance advisory
These consultants were selected through a rigorous evaluation process based on past expertise, domain-specific experience, and global project exposure. The empanelment laid the foundation for preparing Dholera SIR to meet global standards in planning, environmental safety, and integrated infrastructure delivery.
Officials noted that this step ensures technical robustness and transparency across development phases, especially in sensitive areas such as land use planning, flood-prone zones, and ecological buffer designs. It also aligns Dholera’s execution process with international best practices, paving the way for scalable and sustainable industrial urbanization.
The empaneled teams were also tasked with supporting the early phases of trunk infrastructure design, investor outreach documentation, and implementation support systems for future mega-projects under the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
