GUJARAT: State electricity authorities have held discussions on preparing a reliable power supply framework to support the upcoming industrial development in Dholera. The discussions focused on creating a stable and scalable power infrastructure to meet the needs of future industries, including advanced manufacturing, agro-processing, and potential semiconductor and electronics units expected to set up operations in the region.

As Dholera is being developed as a future industrial hub, having a strong and reliable electricity supply is essential to attract investments and ensure uninterrupted operations for industries. Authorities emphasized the importance of integrating modern power distribution networks, substations, and green energy options to align with Gujarat’s goals of sustainable and resilient industrial growth.

This planned framework will not only benefit large industries but will also support small and medium enterprises by reducing power-related operational risks and ensuring consistent energy availability. Additionally, the proposed plans include exploring renewable energy integration to encourage the use of clean energy within Dholera’s industrial zones, aligning with India’s broader climate goals while supporting cost-effective power supply.

Stakeholders believe that focusing on power infrastructure at this stage will help Dholera position itself as an investment-ready industrial region under initiatives like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). It will also create local employment opportunities in the power and industrial sectors, contributing to Gujarat’s vision of becoming a leader in sustainable industrial development.
