GANDHINAGAR: Dholera Industrial Smart City, located around 100 km from Ahmedabad, is nearing a major milestone with Phase 1 now 95% complete, paving the way for new industrial investments in the region.

During a recent visit to the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reviewed the progress of infrastructure and development activities as part of the preparations for the upcoming 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. The Chief Minister highlighted Dholera’s role in advancing key sectors like semiconductors, green hydrogen, and advanced manufacturing, which align with India’s sustainable growth goals.

Dholera SIR is strategically positioned along the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), enhancing its connectivity and appeal for industries. Notably, 565 km of the DFC passes through Gujarat, providing a logistical advantage to industries operating within the smart city.

Covering 22.54 sq km under Phase 1, known as the Activation Area, the development includes zones for industries, housing, mixed-use development, recreation, tourism, and social infrastructure. Land allotment has begun, offering parcels ranging from 1 acre to over 330 acres, providing flexibility for small and large-scale industries looking to establish operations in Dholera.

Phase 1 infrastructure includes a comprehensive water management system featuring a 50 MLD Water Treatment Plant, a Master Balancing Reservoir, Elevated Service Reservoirs, a 10 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant, and a 20 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant. These utilities are managed by the City Integrated Operations Center, ensuring reliable water and waste management services for industrial, commercial, and residential needs.

This progress positions Dholera as a future-ready smart city, attracting global investments while promoting sustainable urban growth in Gujarat.
