Central Government Approves Development of Dholera under DMIC
NEW DELHI: The central government has officially approved the inclusion of Dholera under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) development program, marking a significant milestone in advancing the region’s infrastructure and industrial potential. This decision is aimed at transforming Dholera into a strategic industrial hub by enabling structured investments and facilitating planned urban and industrial development aligned with national economic goals.
The approval under DMIC will unlock funding and policy support for critical trunk infrastructure, including wide road networks, reliable power supply, integrated water management systems, and advanced connectivity frameworks, ensuring Dholera is prepared to attract semiconductor, electronics, and advanced manufacturing industries. This move will also facilitate the development of logistics parks, multimodal transport facilities, and smart utilities to support seamless industrial operations in the region.
As part of this development, Dholera will integrate modern urban planning with industrial zones, residential areas, and commercial hubs to create a live-work-play ecosystem for workers and residents. The region’s inclusion under DMIC aligns with India’s Make in India initiative, promoting domestic manufacturing capabilities while attracting global investors seeking well-planned and infrastructure-ready locations for setting up high-value industries.
This approval highlights the central government’s commitment to boosting Gujarat’s industrial landscape while supporting job creation, economic growth, and sustainable development. It positions Dholera as a future-ready, technology-driven industrial city with the potential to become a model for other industrial corridors across India, ensuring long-term economic benefits for the state and the country.
