GANDHINAGAR: In a major step forward for the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), Gujarat state authorities have released the draft Development Plan for public inspection and feedback. This includes the initial planning under Town Planning (TP) Scheme 1 and TP Scheme 2, with a special emphasis on transparency and local engagement.

The plan covers a vast area of approximately 153 square kilometers, marking it as the first phase of Dholera’s greenfield smart city vision. The master plan outlines land allocation for industrial zones, residential clusters, institutional facilities, green belts, and integrated transportation corridors, including rail and highway connectivity. The framework is designed to create a self-sustaining, modern urban ecosystem that aligns with global smart city benchmarks.

To ensure participatory development, residents, landowners, and relevant stakeholders have been invited to review the draft and submit any objections, suggestions, or clarifications within the designated consultation period. These inputs will be considered before finalizing the plan.

Officials from the Dholera Industrial Development Authority (DIDA) and urban development departments emphasized the importance of community involvement in shaping the region’s future. They also highlighted the plan’s compliance with the broader Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) initiative.

This initiative reaffirms the government's commitment to inclusive development, aiming to transform Dholera into a high-tech economic hub built on transparency, planned urban growth, and robust infrastructure.
