Gujarat Hosts Investor Summit Highlighting Dholera
AHMEDABAD: In the run-up to the Vibrant Gujarat 2011 summit, the Gujarat government organized a high-level investor meeting to spotlight the development potential of the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). The exclusive gathering attracted key international business delegations from countries such as Germany, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, signaling strong global interest in the project.
During the session, government officials and representatives from the Dholera SIR Development Authority showcased the region’s comprehensive master plan. They emphasized core features including cutting-edge infrastructure, integrated town planning, robust utility corridors, and seamless connectivity through proposed highways, metro links, and an international airport.
One of the event’s major highlights was the introduction of Dholera’s single-window clearance system. This initiative is aimed at fast-tracking approvals, reducing bureaucratic delays, and creating a business-friendly environment for investors looking to establish operations in the region.
The summit sparked serious interest from industrial stakeholders, leading to discussions on potential Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately ₹3,500 crore. Key investment areas identified included advanced manufacturing, solar energy, electronics, and smart city technologies.
Officials reaffirmed Dholera’s status as India’s first greenfield smart city under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), highlighting its role as a future-ready economic hub. The event served as a critical platform to promote public-private partnerships, encourage innovation, and align with Gujarat’s broader economic development vision.
With strong investor enthusiasm and a clear roadmap for sustainable growth, Dholera is steadily emerging as one of India’s most promising destinations for next-generation industrial and urban development.
