GANDHINAGAR: In a landmark development for Dholera’s transformation into a world-class smart city, the Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA) finalized a major collaboration with global technology leaders Cisco and IBM to implement an advanced ICT Master System. The contracts were signed as part of the region’s integrated infrastructure rollout plan and reflect the government’s strong commitment to future-ready urban governance.

Under the agreement, Cisco and IBM will serve as Master System Integrators, tasked with developing and implementing a centralized command-and-control framework for Dholera. The integrated system will digitally monitor and manage multiple core utilities—water supply, electricity distribution, traffic flow, street lighting, waste management, and emergency response mechanisms—across the city through real-time analytics and automation.

The initiative is a part of Dholera’s vision to become India’s first truly digital and intelligent urban ecosystem, where infrastructure and services are managed through interconnected sensors and IoT-powered networks. Once operational, the system is expected to significantly improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and offer predictive maintenance for utilities—benefiting both residents and businesses.

This strategic collaboration with Cisco and IBM is one of the earliest high-tech public-private partnerships signed for Dholera and is likely to become a model for other smart city projects in India. It signals the start of a new era in digital urban planning, where technology leads sustainable development.
