About SSC CGL: A Brief!

Staff Selection Commission- Combined Graduate Level, or shortly SSC CGL, is a national-level recruitment-oriented entrance test for government jobs in various Group B and Group C posts across diverse ministries, departments, and organizations. Assistant Section Officer, Assistant Enforcement Officer,  Inspector (Income Tax, Preventive Officer, Central Exercise), Sub Inspector (CBI/ NBI), Auditor, Accountant, and Junior Accountant are some of the most prominent government posts filled through this exam.

Conducted by the Staff Selection Commission every year, SSC CGL is typically a four-tier (or level) exam, where Tier 1 is the preliminary level, Tier 2 is the Main examination, Tier 3 is a descriptive round to test language proficiency, and Tier 4 is the final, skill testing round depending on the specific job requirements.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to register for your SSC CGL exam in 2025. Make sure you follow each step carefully!

Step 1: Go to the official website of SSC via www.ssc.gov.in and hit the “New User? Register Now.” button.

Step 2: The link will take you to the registration form portal, where you have to put your name, valid email address, and active phone number to generate your unique registration number and password.

Step 3: Next, you have to log in to your registered account using your designated credentials and start filling out all personal, educational, and other pertinent details asked for!

Usually, you will have to fill in details like age, date of birth, gender, nationality, residential address, parents/guardian’s name, adhar number, identification mark, category, last educational qualification, etc. 

Step 4: Then, you need to upload the requisite scanned documents in the designated format and size to support the details you have provided in the application form.

Here, a signature, photograph, mark sheets or degree certificate, category certificate (if applicable), and identity proof are the usual documents asked for! Make sure you provide them all and click on “Submit”. 

Step 5: Now is the time to pay the exam fee to complete the registration process for SSC CGL! You can make the payment via Credit or Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, and so forth.

Once done, you will receive a notification message and email concerning your successful registration for SSC CGL 2025.
