About GRE –
The Graduate Record Exam, or GRE, is an international-level examination used to determine admissions to postgraduate or doctoral degrees at universities and colleges in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, and other countries.
Administered by the Educational Testing Service, this worldwide accepted standardised exam is classified into two categories - the General Test and the Subject Test, where the latter is not considered mandatory for admission but acts as an add-on to your academic candidature profile.
GRE is a computer-based exam that encompasses MCQ-type questions. For the general test, the duration is typically 1 hour and 58 minutes. For the different subject tests, such as Maths, Physics, Psychology, etc., it’s 2 hours to 2 hours and 50 minutes.
GRE 2025 Exam Dates (Tentative)
The general test of the GRE takes place every 7 days a week throughout the year, and you can opt for it anytime at your convenience. The conducting body allows registrations as late as 2 days before the exam date. The GRE subject test occurs thrice a year, typically in April, September, and October.

GRE 2025 Registration Process
Here’s a step-by-step guide for the registration process of GRE 2025.
Step 1:
Go to the ETS GRE official website by navigating through https://www.ets.org/gre.html and create an account of yours!
Step 2:
Then, log into your ETS account, hit the “Register for GRE” option, and subsequently choose the type of GRE test you want to appear for, i.e., “GRE General” or “GRE Subject”.
Step 3:
Herein, you have to choose your preferred exam date and center and start filling in the details stated in the application form.
Typically, you will be asked to give details like your name, parents/guardians’ name, residential address, age, nationality, gender, category, etc.
Step 4:
The next step is to submit your original identity proof, like Aadhar, Voter, PAN card, Driving License, or Passport.
Step 5:
Now, you can proceed to make the fee payment. To do so, click on the “GRE fee for Indians” and pay the exam fee via Debit/Credit Card, UPI, NET Banking, or any other method specified therein.
That’s all! Once your payment is successful, you will receive a confirmation mail for your GRE 2025 registration.
