GANDHINAGAR: In a major step toward expanding the planning horizon of Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), the Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) submitted draft proposals for Town Planning (TP) Schemes 3, 4, 5, and 6 to the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB). These schemes collectively span an impressive 42,000+ hectares, moving well beyond the already approved Phase-1 activation area.

The drafts outline a vision for balanced zoning across multiple sectors, including industrial corridors, residential neighborhoods, commercial zones, open spaces, and greenfield developments. These schemes also integrate flood management zones, arterial and sub-arterial road networks, utility corridors, and space for future infrastructure such as metro lines and logistics hubs.

The submission marks a critical advancement in Dholera’s urban planning process, setting the foundation for long-term, phased development that aligns with the region’s smart city goals and high-speed growth trajectory. The GIDB will now assess the feasibility, compliance, and stakeholder readiness before final approval and land pooling initiation.
