DHOLERA: In a notable step towards environmental stewardship, the Gujarat Ecology Commission has granted approval for the development of a 3,000-acre eco-zone adjacent to the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). This eco-sensitive area is designed to balance industrial growth with ecological preservation, creating a sustainable development model for the region.

The approved zone will function as a green buffer between industrial clusters and natural habitats, helping to conserve local flora and fauna. Plans for the eco-zone include the development of solar energy parks, afforestation drives, and infrastructure to support environmentally friendly industries.

In addition to ecological benefits, the zone is also intended to serve as an educational and recreational hub. Nature trails, botanical gardens, and environmental awareness centers are part of the long-term vision to engage the public in sustainability practices.

Government officials emphasized that the eco-zone aligns with Dholera’s broader vision of being a smart and green city. By integrating green spaces with economic planning, the state aims to attract investments in renewable energy, sustainable manufacturing, and environmental research.

This initiative highlights Gujarat’s commitment to responsible urban planning and positions Dholera as a model for integrating ecological preservation into industrial development.
