With a population of 923,000, Nova Scotia is the most populous province of Canada’s three Maritime provinces and the Atlantic provinces. It is present in eastern Canada also the second smallest province by area. Halifax, the capital city, is the centre of attraction for culture and arts. Nova Scotia Express Entry Program or simply NSNP immigration is a program to welcome new candidates into the province. All four streams under Express Entry follows the federal government’s Express Entry selection mechanism. Candidates applying from the below four streams should have an active Express Entry profile. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination under one of the Express Entry-aligned streams will get an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System score and an invitation to apply for permanent resident status in further draws of the Express Entry pool.
Under this stream, the province can nominate eligible candidates for admission to Canada without any sponsoring employer. This stream is further divided into two categories. Category A requires a job offer from an employer in the province. Category B requires work experiences in any one of the occupations that are in-demand in Nova Scotia province. Candidates applying under this stream should have at least 67 points from the six selection factors. They are – education, ability in English/French, work experience, age, arranged employed in Nova Scotia, and adaptability. There are 11 occupations under the Nova Scotia Demand stream.

This stream is specifically designed to allow the province to select those candidates who are qualified doctors from the Express Entry pool. The province targets only two occupations as per the National Occupational Codes. They are:
In Nova Scotia Express Entry, This stream targets foreign workers and international graduates. If there are any positions vacant and the province is unable to fill the positions with Canadian citizens or permanent residents, then the employers can access the candidates under this stream to fill the employment opportunities. Under this stream, the province has the option to fix the employment gaps in the public health system by hiring general practitioners, family physicians, and specialist physicians.
Designed for intermediate-skilled jobs that are in high demand in the province. Some of the targeted occupations are nurse aides, orderlies, transport truck drivers, patient service associates. Requirements are:
Candidates with businesses or senior management experience fall under this category. They must live in the province, to either start a business or purchase an existing business. Under this stream, only a temporary work permit is granted for one year. After successfully completing the day to day operations for one continuous year, candidates can apply for permanent residence.
